What does your name mean?

My surname is actually Rodrigues, however due to the wide use of this name amongst Portuguese and Spanish communities, I have decided to use my mothers maiden name, Mineiro which is the Brazilian Portuguese term for the inhabitants of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais and also the characteristic dialect spoken in the heart of that state.

How and where were you trained?

I had initial art training in Portugal between my 14 and my 18 years of age… I have pursued when I was 22 graphic design at the Edinburgh College of Art

How long does your artwork take to produce?

It varies a lot professionally (9h -17h) it takes from 2 to 4 hours to develop initial sketch based on the information and brief provided. But personally a painting can be in the works for months, however I always try to achieve the end as quickly as possible…

tomorrow the sun might just not shine as brightly as today…

Can you describe your process?

My process is as free as possible. I initially organize everything that I have gathered from the customer from feelings I got from his shoes to his method of marketing his product.
I then proceed the development using every path possible and when the click happens, I call it a day

What led you to this process?

From reading Edward de Bono. It all boiled down to systematic approach which has proven to work on most projects. Personal developments however test and twist the approach in search of new development schema’s

How did your process develop?

The process is still under development, the only thing I know at this moment is that tomorrow I am going to look back and acknowledge everything as trash.

My portfolio is my trash can.

What preparation do you take before your start?

Gathering as much information possible, as without this nothing new can be achieved, the only way is to look at it with new eyes and for that, preparation has to be made…

However it all starts with a coffee and cigarette break…

If you could have any work of art ever made in your leaving room, what would it be?

It would have to be Wassily Kandinsky - Composition VIII , its sick and composed disorganization reminds me every time of the strictness human existence.
